Dear Republican,
Did you work hard for 3 years (or more) for the GOP, only to have them nominate Romney (after McCain) for president? Did Romney really embody your values? I’m not asking did he say the right things during the campaign, because he did. I’m asking if his votes and actions prior to running for president were consistent with your values. If you study his record (not his recent comments) on gun control and climate change, you will probably be surprised. Come on, he’s a liberal Republican from Massachusetts! What do you expect? Yet, the Republican establishment made sure that Romney would be nominated, just like McCain before him.
When these two men were nominated, did you tell yourself that you could live with their shortcomings in principle, because it was now time to be a pragmatist? Anybody but Obama, right?
How about Obamacare? The mid-term elections of 2010 were historic, sweeping Republicans into total control of the House. We The People were adamant: Obamacare must end. Well, it has been 2 full years. Did you know that all spending must originate in the House? That’s right, per the Constitution, the House holds the purse strings. Have there been any spending cuts? Did the Republicans gut funding to the agencies implementing Obamacare? The Republicans hold all the cards, yet they spend their time trying to silence Tea Party candidates, and Obamacare implementation continues.
The point I am making is this: Despite all your efforts, the Republican establishment is ignoring you. The Federal government is beyond your control, because the guys you think are on your team… well, they aren’t. You are being played the fool by the Republican establishment. How long are you going to let this continue?
What is the answer? Well, you actually have a shot at communicating with your State legislature. At least they still live in the State, and many of them have real jobs. Have you heard the term Nullification? It means that the sovereign state of North Carolina has the right to refuse to support non-laws such as Obamacare. It means that you can control your destiny right here, right now, in North Carolina. It means you can stop begging politicians in Washington, hat in hand. It means you can stand up with pride and draw a line in the sand and say, “Not in my State”.
Stop wasting your time on Federal politics. That game is rigged. Start talking to your neighbor about Nullification.
